Homebrewing Log
I brewed my first batch of beer in 2009 and I've really enjoyed trying out new recipes ever since. So far I've experimented with extract beer kits from Midwest Supplies and Brewer's Best and a from-scratch Apfelwein.
As a designer part of the fun of a new beer is creating a unique label to match the style. A sweet label really finishes off a bottle of homebrew and makes it special.
I first brewed using the moniker La Foxissippi Brewing Co. as an inside joke with a few friends and now use Killebrew Brew Co. in honor of Harmon Killebrew, the great slugger and Minnesota Twin.

OOF!
Style: ApfelweinRecipe: EdWort’s Award Winning ApfelweinBrew date: February 2011Named OOF! due to the 8.0% ABV (compare to 3.5-4.5% ABV of most beers) of this crisp, carbonated Apfelwein. This one grew on me and I will definitely make it again.

Clouded Judgement
Style: HefeweizenBrew date: January 2011Nice and cloudy, just the way I like it.

BE Stout!
Style: StoutBrew date: January 2011I say this with pretty much every beer I brew, but this might be my very favorite so far. Delicious. Not much hop presence compared to similar beers.

Blonde Baby Ale
Style: KölschKit: Brewer’s Best KölschBrew date: December 2010I'd never tasted a Kölsch before brewing this beer. It's tasty, a bit more bitter than I expected, and I think if I were to brew a similar beer again I'd pick a slightly different style.

Tall Man
Style: PorterKit: Brewer’s Best Smoked PorterBrew date: February 2010Delicious. In hindsight I'd make the Cream Stout again before brewing this Porter.

The Otter River Ale
Style: DunkelweizenKit: Brewer’s Best DunkelweizenBrew date: December 2009Ahh, the one beer I'm certain I'll brew again. A great brew, really easy to drink without sacrificing interest.

American Pale Ale
